1/12/09: Well. My laptop, which had my web editing software on it, bit the dust in October just after I updated last. Since I loved the way my site looked using said software - I really haven't wanted to touch this place since then! I now have the same software on my wonderful shiny new laptop (thanks Mom+Clay!). Hence this update!! (Sidenote: My blog gets more regular updates and information.)
On a professional level: I finished my comprehensive exams in December and got my official MS degree on the exact same day actually. My research fellowship with the Army Research Institute is going well (at least I think it is), and I can't wait to do more projects with them. My SIOP submission was accepted - so I'll be doing a neato symposium in April in Atlanta at the conference with some colleagues. I'm working on some fun research with two of my favorite professors, and hoping to finally get a Meta-Analysis to publishable status with another student. I'm also currently enrolled in my last two classes ever - this May should find me classified as ABD (all but dissertation). Which also means I should be on track for a May 2011 PhD. Here's hoping that all works out as planned, I am so excited! It's a busy semester, especially with my TA, CSIOP, and finalizing the Scantron arrangements for our department - but being busy is better than being bored!
On a personal level: I moved in December into a new place, so I've been enjoying going through the Apartment Therapy process again in a new space. I'm traveling for my fellowship once a week which is making things a little tricky but has given me time to 'read' (audiobooks) for fun a lot more often. I've been working on some graphic design style artwork pieces and some of what I think of as fun graphic paintings (less concerned with content, more color splashes and basic themes like word art - basically less complex and less of a mental process). I'll try to update those sections of the site soon. I've also been working on photography some, esp. pet portraits.
Life is very good. :)
